Vocalist Alison Crockett and flutist Alex Hamburger are the artists-in-residence at the 2025 Washington Women in Jazz Festival. CapitalBop brought them together to talk jazz, Brazilian music, the clave rhythm, and why music performance and education should be accessed "from a very cultural space." This conversation was filmed on March 22, 2025, at the Josephine Butler Parks Center. Special thanks to Steve Coleman of Washington Parks & People. Producers: Giovanni Russonello and Jamie Sandel. Director of photography and editor: Jamie Sandel. Set assistant: Kayla Wallace.
